Anderson Reacts to State of the State
State Sen. Neil Anderson joined fellow lawmakers in the chambers of the House of Representatives on January 25 to listen to Gov. Bruce Rauner address the people of Illinois during the annual State of the State Address.
“In today’s State of the State Address, the Governor outlined his vision for Illinois for the next year. While our state has faced significant challenges in recent years, it was nice to be able to celebrate the bipartisan compromise that kept the Exelon Quad Cities Generating Station open and saved more than 800 jobs in the 36th District,” said Anderson. “By building on that spirit of bipartisanship, and on progress that has already been made in the Senate, I believe that we can address the significant challenges our state still faces and work toward a constitutional, balanced state budget and reforms. I hope that Speaker Madigan will join us at the bargaining table, so that we can work together to make Illinois a better place to live.”
