The 36th Senate District, as part of Illinois’ annual highway improvement plan, will receive $117,393,000 in infrastructure upgrades in the 2016 fiscal year. According to State Sen. Neil Anderson, the FY16 program will finance 14 projects in the district, including components of a multi-year overhaul of the Mississippi River Corridor.
“The 36th District is a transportation hub for commerce throughout Western Illinois,” said Anderson. “As a border district, it’s important that we regularly repair and update our roads to preserve this vital resource, and keep employers and jobs from fleeing across the border to Iowa. The investments in these projects, especially the I-74 and Mississippi River Corridor projects, will help our communities to thrive well into the future. ”
