Anderson on End of Session
The Senate adjourned on May 31, but Senators will return to Springfield June 9 as work on some of the most pressing issues facing Illinois continues this summer. State Senator Neil Anderson (Rock Island) offered the following comment.
“I’m the new guy in the chamber and I have to say that the spring session has been frustrating. Unfortunately the same people who have controlled the legislature for years have passed yet another unbalanced budget and refused to work in good faith to find places where we can compromise,” said Senator Anderson. “However, I remain hopeful that we can come together, in a bipartisan way, to find solutions to Illinois’ problems and put people back to work.”
