Anderson Reacts to Budget Address
State Senator Neil Anderson (Rock Island) offered the following reaction to Governor Bruce Rauner’s February 18 State of the State Address.
“In January when the new General Assembly was sworn in we knew that the state budget was going to be the biggest issue we would face this spring. Today Governor Rauner delivered his budget address and started the dialogue on that issue. He proposed a budget that dedicates funding to priorities like elementary and secondary education, and public safety, while still reducing overall spending from the 2015 fiscal year,” said Anderson. “In the coming months we’re going to have to work together in a bipartisan manner and with the Governor to pass a budget that will put Illinois back on track. Now it’s time for me to take this back to my constituents so I can ensure that I’m making the best decisions for them.”
