Anderson Participates in Ceremony Honoring Vietnam Veterans Day
On March 29, Senator Anderson proud to participate in a ceremony to recognize Vietnam Veterans Day. The ceremony was held at Memorial Field on the Rock Island Arsenal. Included in the ceremony was a moving reading of the names of the 192 Quad City residents who were killed in action while serving in Vietnam.
Among the names read at the ceremony was that of Dennis Kellums, a graduate of Moline High School who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1967. Dennis’s sister, Jane Gray, was presented with a shadow box containing her brother’s awards and decorations at the ceremony. Anderson’s office was able to help get the awards expedited from the US Government so that they could be presented to Kellums’ family at the ceremony.
